Shift Supervisor
Job Description
Whilst you won’t be on the road, you will be responsible for ensuring all products are handled in accordance with the customer's specification and the inventory and loads are correctly recorded. You will also be responsible for the daily allocation of work tasks, staffing requirements and supervision within the ELA / warehouses. This is a fast paced, hands on role and will keep you on your toes.
This is a PM shift Supervisor role:
Monday to Friday 13.00 - 21.30 (Finish)
Alternating Sundays where required.
What would you be doing?
- Daily hand over with previous shift to ensure all special instructions and freight placements are covered off
- Daily meeting with the Shift Manager to communicate any special instructions or requirements on freight, load outs and to discuss previous shifts issues
- Ensure all process and procedures are followed.
- Ensure all frozen and export freight is probed and temperatures are recorded on manifests
- All inbound & outbound manifest to be completed in full by loader/unloader and signed off by the Supervisor
- All outbound manifest must have accurate load plan completed.
- Daily forklift check sheets to be completed by storepersons.
- Complete Linehaul and Metro stocktakes and bookings by shift’s allocated deadlines
- Ensure ELA and docks are cleaned after every shift, and rubbish bins emptied
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar role within a transport/warehousing, distribution or transport environment
- Knowledge of transport management systems. Experience with Truck Mate will be a huge advantage
- A strong knowledge of how FMCG works in New Zealand
- Strong planning, organising, record-maintaining and time management skills
- Loading and unloading freight to and from truck
- Cleaning and maintaining warehouse and equipment
- Heavy lifting (up to 20KG)
- Operate counterbalance and reach Forklifts in a safe manner - (OSCH Licence)
- Can operate to deadlines
- The ability to work in a cool store environment
