Dispatcher

We are looking for a Dispatcher to join our Auckland Transport team based in Takanini, responsible for coordinating freight deliveries, supporting drivers, and ensuring our operations run smoothly overnight.

This is a fast-paced role where no two nights are the same — ideal for someone who thrives under pressure, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in keeping operations running efficiently.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role you’ll be responsible for coordinating freight movements and supporting drivers to ensure deliveries are completed safely and on time.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating daily freight dispatch across the network
  • Managing driver schedules and delivery runs
  • Monitoring deliveries and resolving delays, disruptions or operational issues
  • Communicating with drivers, customers and internal teams
  • Preparing delivery manifests and job allocations
  • Ensuring compliance with transport regulations, safety standards and company procedures
  • Supporting fleet servicing schedules and vehicle availability
  • Providing clear updates to customers regarding delivery timing and issues


The Dispatcher acts as a central communication point between drivers, operations teams and customers, ensuring deliveries meet our service commitments.

 

Shift Options: Two night shift rosters are available:

Shift 1
Sunday – Wednesday
5:00pm – 5:00am
48 hours per week

Shift 2
Tuesday – Friday
5:00pm – 5:00am
48 hours per week

 

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who can remain calm under pressure and coordinate multiple moving parts in a busy logistics environment.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience in transport, logistics, dispatch or fleet coordination
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving ability
  • Confidence working with transport systems or dispatch software
  • The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • A proactive mindset and strong attention to detail


Experience in transport route planning or fleet coordination would be an advantage but is not essential.
