Job description
We’re passionate about our role in delivering the finest of Kiwi food, and it’s our people in depots and out on the road every day who work vigilantly to ensure the safety and freshness of the product we store or deliver. Our people drive our business literally!
These exciting opportunities will allow you to showcase your industry knowledge and experience. Working as part of a team, you will be key to ensuring shipments/orders are delivered or picked up within agreed time frames with truck routes and loading points being optimised. These roles will offer you real variety in your day, you might start your day sitting at your desk dispatching truck, an hour later you might be out in the yard operating a forklift and loading product, these roles really have it all!
We have two shifts available, working 4 days on, 4 days off, 0400am – 2.00pm or 1.00pm – 11.00pm.
What will you be doing?
- Efficiently plan freight and dispatch
- Assisting with loading units – this will require operating onsite loading equipment (forklift)
- Proactively communicate to stakeholders any operational issues i.e. delivery delays
- Organising fleet servicing and maintenance
- Creating delivery manifests
- Arranging and managing overflow volumes as required to meet delivery times
- Ensuring all source and transit documentation is completed accurately
- Identifying opportunities for efficiency and service levels improvements
What will you bring?
- Solid experience in transport dispatch – ideally at least 2 years in a similar role
- Knowledge of transport management systems - Experience with Truck Mate advantageous
- Be physically fit and confident assisting with loading units – some forklift experience required
- Be customer focused with strong communication skills
- Excellent time management and planning skills
- Confident working within a fast-paced environment with the ability to pivot
- Be team focused who enjoys working in a collaborative environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with strong attention to detail
While your focus will be on efficiently planning and dispatching product, we are after a team player to provide real hands on support with loading as required, therefore you will need to hold a current forklift licence and be physically fit.
